Make a difference for as a little as $1 a week!
We aim to recruit grassroots donors to build a community providing long-term support for families.
About
When there is so much relentless horror and darkness in the world, it is easy to feel helpless and hopeless. But we are neither helpless or hopeless. You can make truly make an enormous difference for the real time safety of families in Gaza with even $1 a week. Grassroots donations are how we can keep consistent, sustainable support for families going. We are asking our community for grassroots donations on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Big donations are awesome and welcomed, but we need sustained support. Will you sign up and be our friend?
And, you can be a part of something bigger— a community who is dreaming of and fighting for a better world. And end to genocide.
Who We Are
Beth
Hello, I am Beth. I am a mom of two young toddlers, Margot and Parker. My children are at the heart of everything I do, and I see my children in every child across the globe. There is nothing more pressing or important than liberation. It is the only way to stop the horrific violence against families, and it is our only way of creating a world that is habitable and worth living in.
Friendship, love, rest, mutual-aid, and divestment from individualism are all integral to resistance. Those are the pillars of this group, and I look forward to making wonderful friends, learning from each other, sharing in our collective grief, and motivating/helping each other take action in our communities, all while we fundraise for families across the globe!
It is an HONOR to know these families and it is an honor to direct the resources we have their way. These families deserve sustainable and steadfast support, and I am grateful to everyone who wants to make that happen.
Molly Abrahamson, Volunteer Organizer
Beth and I started this program as a way to gather committed support for families experiencing genocide.
One thing that strikes me is the gratitude families I’ve talked to have shown me even just for raising my voice. It’s truly my honor with no thanks needed, but I mention it because it speaks to the beautiful spirit of these families and the power of our voices. I ask myself, if I were in the same situation, would I have the capacity for gratitude? I’m not sure I’d have the strength. I’m in awe of their profound humanity despite enduring some of the most horrific conditions I’ve seen in my lifetime. I’m grateful to the families I’ve connected with because they’ve given me the gift I’ve not feeling powerless.
We need to fight for people under the attack of genocide across the globe. We are them and they are us. We are all family. I hope you will consider joining the Resistance Through Friendship Community. It’s my dream that we’ll be able to work together to help save lives, and in doing so together build a community that heals one another.
And you don’t have to be wealthy to do this. Our goal is sustainability. $1 a week may not seem like enough to make a difference but it DOES—in this case it could be life saving. When we work together our dollars add up.
And if you can’t afford to donate you are still welcome in this community! There are so many ways to resist beyond financial means, can you share a post? Do you know someone who could make or donate something cool to a raffle fundraiser? Could you ask a local business to support a family in Gaza? Can you organize a direct action/protest? Do you have art/graphic design skills we could use to make art/content building awareness? Can you be a listening ear? Can you be a participant in conversation? Can you do none of those things, but still want to help? You are WELCOMED!
